Geodesic Length Measurement in Medical Images
The measurement of the length of objects in medical images is often a crucial element in diagnosis. Despite whether it is used pre-operative or intra-operative, most methods lack of an important point to be discussed: The discretization error! This problem was investigated by the group of Prof. Nahm and it was revealed that the error is significant. Further, methods to reduce this error are presented and their impact proven.
These findings are published by Ady Naber (IBT) et al. in the Journal MDPI Photonics and is open access.
