The Institute of Biomedical Engineering (IBT) welcomes Miriam Weiß as a new research scholarship holder.
Since September 2021, she has been working in the "Optical Technologies in Medicine" group on quantitative blood flow measurement during neurovascular interventions.
For this purpose, the application areas of optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) will be investigated and expanded. This method is a non-contact imaging technique that has so far been mainly used in ophthalmology to visualize blood flow in vascular networks (e.g. in the retina).
Miriam Weiß completed her studies in mechatronics and information technology at KIT. As part of her master's thesis at IBT, she worked on a mitral valve implementation in a lumped parameter model.
