Personalizing digital twins using electrogram signatures to identify atrial fibrillation ablation targets

The project aims to develop and optimize a clinic-ready pipeline capable of predicting atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation targets in real time during electrophysiology (EP) procedures.
AF is the most common arrhythmia, yet the current standard treatment, pulmonary vein isolation (PVI), fails in around half of the patients. Identifying ablation targets beyond PVI is challenging and requires highly experienced electrophysiologists. A common approach is electro-anatomical mapping, which records electrical activity on the heart's inner surface to guide post-PVI ablations. This project will enhance this workflow by predicting optimal AF ablation sites and simulating potential outcomes of various ablation strategies based on electro-anatomical mapping in the EP lab.
